On the Eliza team, we’re waistcoat fanatics. To the point that if we compiled all of our pieces together, we could likely open our own waistcoat store. So when it came to packing for our content trip to Hvar, it was no surprise that we each packed our own waistcoats to style in the sun. Shooting around the pool at our stunning accommodation, Villa Anabel, these were the team’s summer holiday-approved waistcoat looks.
Krissy – Lace detail waistcoat and silk skirt
Fashion and Beauty Director Krissy styled her Broderie Anglaise Waistcoat, H&M, £44.99, with a khaki Satin Slip Skirt, Anthropologie, £88, and White Beaded Strappy Heeled Sandals, £60, River Island (which were delivering on all the Jacquemus vibes). For accessories, she rented the Cult Gaia Mini Ark Bag from Hurr, and paired it with her favourite Gold Heart Earrings, £2.99, New Look, and Le Specs Outta Love Tortoiseshell Sunglasses, £65, Harrods.
Laren – Green waistcoat and shorts co-ord
Adding a pop of colour to our normally neutral group wardrobe, Laren wore a lime green Linen Waistcoat, £25 and Pleated Shorts, £22 co-ord, styling it with a pair of white Toe Thong Kitten Heel Sandals, £22, and Asymmetric Shoulder Bag, £20, all from ASOS Design.
Hannah – Knitted waistcoat and linen maxi skirt
For the cooler evenings, Hannah opted for a Cotton Rich V-Neck Knitted Waistcoat, £22.50, and Linen Rich Maxi Skirt, £25, both M&S, as well as a pair of square-toe Textured Mules, £27.99, H&M to elevate the look for dinner. For accessories, she added some vintage-inspired Round Sunglasses, £24, Free People, a Snake Chain Necklace, £55, D.Louise, and some Chunky Teardrop Earrings, £6.99, H&M.
Annie – Scoop-neck waistcoat and leopard print shorts
Combining two colour trends we have been loving, Annie’s ensemble included a red Scoop Neck Waistcoat, £30, ASOS with Leopard Crinkle Plisse Wide Leg Shorts, £32, Topshop, and a matching pair of red High-Heel Mule Sandals, £29.99, Stradivarius. She tied this in with a Brown Beaded Shoulder Bag, £30, River Island, which we were all fighting to borrow during our stay.
Jo – Linen waistcoat and striped trousers
Mixing minimal with maximalist, Jo paired a cream Linen-Blend Waistcoat, £79, Nobody’s Child, with Striped Linen-Blend Trousers, £27.99, H&M, bringing the outfit to life with a lime green Mini Beaded Shoulder Bag, £78, Anthropologie, and Acetate Frame Sunglasses, £19.99, Mango.
Lottie – Striped crochet waistcoat co-ord
Stripes are a summer staple that you’ll pull out of your wardrobe every year, so why not take inspiration from Lottie’s Crochet Striped Waistcoat, £25.99, and Crochet Striped Trousers, £29.99, both Mango, and invest in a co-ord piece that’s easy to style and will last you longer than just one season. If you want to sprinkle in a current trend like Lottie has, pair it with some Leopard Print Leather Flat Sandals, £45.99, Stradivarius, and a brown studded Basket Bag, £49.99, Mango, which is giving us a strong nod to Loewe.
The Location
During our Hvar trip, we were kindly gifted a stay at Villa Anabel through MyLuxoria. As well as having the team stay there, the villa’s design and panoramic views were so incredible that we were able to shoot a lot of our content in and around the space itself, including this waistcoat styling shoot and a Guess Which Outfit Is More Expensive: Raffia Bag video.
The villa is thoughtfully designed, blending modern elegance with cozy touches that made it feel like a home away from home, if a little bit more luxurious than our beloved Eliza office. The property included a beautiful infinity pool with views over the island and out to the sea, a sauna, at-home gym and a jacuzzi where we shared cocktails and watched the incredible sunset.
The location was ideal for us too, with just a short drive or 15-minute walk to the Hvar town centre, making it easy to get to our other shoot locations. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed, as well as having a charcuterie board and champagne for us on arrival – which was quickly devoured. If you’re thinking about travelling to Hvar, we can’t recommend MyLuxoria’s edit of luxury properties enough.
