I’m pretty low maintenance when it comes to bathroom beauty products; I’ll use any shampoo and conditioner that’s going and one of my favourite shower gels is by Radox (the green one, if you were wondering). But there’s one thing I love to go a little fancy with, and that’s my boujee hand soap.
Look, I’m a zillenial, so I have been and will be renting for the next 1000 years, which means my ability to put a personal touch on where I live is pretty limited. But when it comes to hand soaps, the choice is all mine.
I’m not saying you should judge a person by their hand soap, but I think you can read a few cues about someone by their lather of choice.
Me? I’ve got an Aesop taste with a less than Aesop budget, which means I’ve had to scope out some affordable alternatives that still make an aesthetically pleasing addition to my bathroom.
So whether you’re in need of some Christmas present inspo or are looking to level up your own hand wash game, for the best boujee looking hand soaps under £15 – because there’s only so many times you can re-use a gifted Aesop bottle – read on…

C.O Bigelow Rosemary Mint Hand Wash, £15
Love an Aesop-esque design but looking for a more affordable alternative? I’ve got you. Enter: C.O Bigelow, a skincare and bodycare brand that first started out as an apothecary in America in the 19th century.
This rosemary mint fragrance is fresh and uplifting, and contains pro-vitamin b5 and aloe vera to keep your hands as smooth as poss.
The brand is fairly new to the UK so you can gloat about being the new boujee soap connoisseur to your friends when they come round and use your bathroom (probably best to wait till they’re finished first).
Dr Bronner’s Organic Shikakai Spearmint Peppermint Hand & Body Soap, £12.50
Now, while I’ve given a lot of men in my life stick for using a 4-in-1 wash (and will continue to do so), I do love this one as a hand soap.
It’s gentle and non-stripping thanks to the nourishing blend of oils and grape juice, and has a refreshing peppermint scent that you’ll keep smelling long after you’ve washed your hands.
Plus, I’m a sucker for old-timey designs.
& Other Stories Sicilian Sunrise Hand Soap, £6
If you’re looking to the high street to pick up a new soap scent, & Other Stories should be your first port of call. It has a selection of bath and body products packaged in the brand’s signature atelier design, and you can pick up a hand wash for just over a fiver.
Whether you like zesty, fresh fragrances (Sicilian Sunrise will be for you) or moody, woodsy scents (try Midnight Encore), you’ll find a hand soap to match your vibe.
If you’re feeling extra put together, you can add a hand lotion, body wash and scrub to your basket in the matching scent.
Arket Geranium Hand Wash, £12
I love the capsule wardrobe style of Arket’s clothing range, so when I found out they also had a bath and body line that followed that same aesthetic, it set my minimalist heart on fire.
Understated and classic, Arket’s hand soaps currently come in four scents: oakmoss, verbena, neroli and geranium. The latter is my favourite for a grown-up floral scent that’s not overpowering.
Space NK Voyage Hand Wash, £14
I’ll be honest, when I first found out that Space NK was launching its own line of body care, I expected it to come with a much steeper price tag, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn that its hand washes come in at under £15 and are refillable.
I’ve tried all the scents and while I love Rewild as a shower gel (it has the perfect uplifting scent for your morning routine), Voyage comes in top for hand wash.
This indulgent-feeling soap has a slightly gritty texture to gently exfoliate hands without stripping them, while the scent contains notes of mandarin, coconut and sandalwood to transport you to sunnier climes.
Sanctuary Spa Signature Collection Hand Wash, £6.50
Another great option that comes in under £10 is Sanctuary Spa’s amber-hued soap, which features the brand’s signature luxury scent of jasmine, grapefruit and vanilla.
Unlike clinical antibacterial formulas of yester-year, this soap nourishes the skin with chamomile flower and aloe vera while cleansing the skin, and it’s also cruelty free, mineral oil free and vegan friendly.
