If there’s one thing I’m a sucker for, it’s tiny beauty products. A baby cleansing balm in a tiny pot? Adorable. Cute shampoo and conditioner in matching diddy bottles? Irresistible. And while these minis are perfect for weekends away and long haul hols, I’m looking to them this new year to stock my gym bag.
This project definitely has ulterior motives; on cold winter evenings, I struggle to drag myself to my (otherwise beloved) spin and barre classes. But the thought of using my new beauty stash after said class may just entice me to hop on the overground and head down to the studio after all. So what I’m really saying is buying more beauty = more of a healthy lifestyle for me. Hard to argue with that logic, right?
With that said, enjoy these mini skincare buys (from individual finds to sweet sets), body must-haves (deodorants to lotions) and hair bits (washing and styling) – and I’ll see you down at spin (maybe…).
Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin Travel Kit, £13
When it comes to skincare, the easiest route to take is a little set such as this one. For just £13, you get a toner, serum and face cream from one of Dr Jart’s most beloved ranges (seriously, I love this stuff).
Soho Skin Discovery Travel Kit, £60
For something a little more comprehensive (and as perhaps as more of a treat), you can’t beat Soho Skin’s epic 7-part kit that comes complete with a travel bag to throw in your gym stash. It features everything from a mini cleanser to a lip balm.
Kopari Beauty Coconut Rose Mini Toner, £11.50
An extra to grab for on-the-go freshen-ups, a little spray toner is perfect for after a class to soothe and cool skin. Apply it after washing your face and before any serums or creams.
Luna Daily The Everywhere Spray-to-Wipe, £8
This product is extra handy if you don’t have time to take a shower post-workout. An eco-friendly alternative to single-use wipes, it can be sprayed onto toilet roll and used to freshen up intimate areas and all over the body, too.
MALIN + GOETZ Mini Eucalyptus Deodorant, £12
A mini deo is a must, and while many workout spaces provide their own, they tend to come in spray cans. If you prefer a natural formula rather than an anti-perspirant, you can’t beat Malin + Goetz’s.
Herlum Hand & Body Wash and Lotion Duo – Sandalwood & Grapefruit, £19
Again, shower gel and body cream are often provided by gyms and studio spaces, but if you fancy a little boujee treat in an amazing scent, I adore this duo from indie brand Herlum. Honestly, it smells incredible.
OUAI Detox Shampoo Travel, £10
Shampoos and conditioners are sometimes in showers after classes, but if you prefer something a little more specific for your hair type, OUAI minis are great little buys…
Pattern Medium Conditioner, £9
As are those from Pattern, if you have curly hair.
Aveda Exclusive Botanical Repair Strengthening Trio, £14.40
A little set of haircare buys works too, just like with skincare. This one contains a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment for post-shower styling, too.
TRESemmé Care & Protect Heat Defence Spray, £1.50
Once you’ve washed and towel-dried your hair, don’t forget the heat protection before you pick up any tools, be it the hairdryers or straighteners provided. This is something spaces often don’t have, so a key buy for your gym bag.
The Body Shop Bamboo Hairbrush Travel Size, £5
One thing I always forget to bring is a comb or hairbrush, so snap one up to always keep in your stash. If not, you may end up using your fingers more than once like me; let’s not even talk about that time I used a fork, The Little Mermaid style…
