At this point, you’d be forgiven for having lost track of all the different brands running under the Kardashian empire. From Kylie Skin to SKIMS and Kendall Jenner’s tequila brand, it feels like there isn’t a part of the Kardashian lifestyle you can’t buy into.
The latest addition to the Kardashian beauty portfolio – and one that’s caused a bit of a stir since its launch – is Kim Kardashian’s skincare brand, SKKN by Kim.
If you feel like you’re having a bit of deja vu here, you’re not wrong. The reality star previously had a cosmetics line named KKW Beauty but decided to do an overhaul, changing the packaging, concept and of course, the name.
Not completely surprisingly, the internet was divided about Kardashian’s new brand before it had even launched, and with Kim unveiling a SKKN homewear accessories line shortly after (including a $89 tissue box, of course), we really had to see what all the hype was about.
To get the low-down on SKKN by Kim, read on for everything to know about the revamped line…

Why did Kim Kardashian rebrand KKW Beauty?
While there are a few different rumours floating around the internet as to why Kardashian decided to close down KKW Beauty, a now-deleted post on its Instagram stated that Kardashian wanted to relaunch with new, modern formulations and “sustainable” packaging.
She also commented that she wanted the shopping experience to be more streamlined for customers, and so would be combining KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance into one website.
Interestingly however, Kardashian seems to have moved away from makeup and perfume altogether, focusing on skincare alone with her new brand we now know as SKKN by Kim.
Some media outlets have also previously reported that according to sources close to the family, one of Kardashian’s main reasons for closing KKW Beauty is wanting to distance herself from her former married name, Kim Kardashian West. It is unclear how much validity these reports yield.
So, what is the concept of SKKN by Kim?
If you’re considering buying into SKKN by Kim, here are the main things you need to know.
Firstly, the beauty mogul worked with celebrity aesthetician Joanna Czech when creating the products, giving it some pretty big kudos from the skincare world.
The range, as stated on SKKN’s Instagram, was created to “bridge the gap between the world’s most renowned dermatological experts and people at home seeking high-quality skincare.” That might go some way to explaining the high-end price point then (more on that later)…
Sustainability has apparently been another pillar in the making of SKKN by Kims’s new products. Aside from the on-brand aesthetic of the packaging (which looks very similar to the minimalist, neutral-toned decor throughout Kardashian’s home), the products are also refillable and come in at a few pounds cheaper than the normal full-size options.
However, early reviews on TikTok have accused SKKN By Kim of “greenwashing,” pointing out that the packaging for the refillable products is almost the same as that housing the normal products.
While the brand has also described the refills as “packaged inside recyclable materials” there’s little information available on what these materials actually are.
What is in the SKKN by Kim range?
SKKN by Kim has launched with nine products, which it describes on its Instagram as a “visionary nine-product ritual.” The line includes a cleanser, toner, exfoliator, hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C8 serum, eye cream, face cream, oil drops and night oil. Try saying that in one breathe.
According to the brand, the formulations of the products focus on renewal, hydration and restoring radiance. They’re all vegan and cruelty-free, and according to Kardashian’s post on Instagram, “efficacious, clean, backed in science, and formulated for all types of skin.”
How much are SKKN by Kim products and are they worth the price?
While up to now you might be thinking SKKN by Kim sounds pretty run-of-the-mill in terms of celebrity beauty brands, this is where things go a little off the beaten path. SKKN is pricey.
The cheapest full sized item is the SKKN by Kim Cleanser, £44, while the most expensive is the Night Oil and Oil Drops, both priced at £97.
You can also buy The Basics 3-piece and The Essentials 5-piece bundles for £150 and £305. If you were looking to commit to the whole routine, The Complete Collection would set you back a cool £585. Ouch.
Clearly, affordability and accessibility weren’t priorities for Kardashian when creating this range. But for the die-hard fans and those with money to spare, the science-led formulas and Kardashian-blueprint design might just tempt you to splash the cash.
When it comes to whether or not the formulas live up to the price point, initial reviews and first impressions of the products (bar the packaging) have been mainly positive.
