Typically, I’d be telling you to invest in a great dupe over the real thing where possible but not when it comes to Adanola. The fashion brand (known for its sportswear but the day-to-day pieces are well worth writing home about too), has quickly gained traction on Instagram and TikTok and has a string of stylish influencers obsessed, including Melissa’s Wardrobe and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who previously launched an edit with the brand.
And, their latest celeb collaboration is no less impressive, as Steph Shep, the woman previously behind Kim Kardashian’s empire, has also given the activewear brand her stamp of approval in the form of the Adanola X Steph Shep collection which dropped online today.
Featuring bras, tops and leggings in shades of deep blue, black, and brown, as well as outerwear and sweats, the collection draws upon everything we expect from Adanola but with an LA twist. Think barre inspired silhouettes and chic utility styles.
But while we know there’s a solid hype around Adanola, the question is why. From the slogan sweatshirts that sell out faster than you can add them to your basket, to the branded socks gracing the feet of Barre babes everywhere, I had to investigate if it really is *that* good.
Adanola aims to create clothes for ‘working out, hanging out, and everything else in between’ and this relaxed vibe combined with a chic colour palette and affordable price points (sweatshirts are £50) has meant demand for the brand has skyrocketed. Its classic oversized hoodies are consistent sell-outs, helped by the fact that Molly-Mae Hague serves up outfit inspo sporting her own hoodie collection.
It might sound boring, but Adanola pieces also wash really well. How often have you bought a tracksuit that was the cosiest thing ever on first wear, only to have the soft fabric turn matte and rough, and the colour wash out? You don’t get that with Adanola pieces. In 100% cotton and with fleece lining, its separates look and feel expensive.
So what pieces do you need in your everyday uniform? Here’s what to buy, from someone who has done three Adanola hauls…
The best Adanola new-in pieces to buy now
The best sweatshirts
There’s no denying the iconic Adanola sweatshirts are the cult buy to grab first if you want to join the (unofficial) Ada club. Five Eliza team members – myself included – regularly sport different versions, and the brand releases new iterations regularly so don’t fret if a few styles are sold out.
Typically, versatile neutrals are its forte, but for this summer, a few sweats have gone bold and bright: Kermit the frog-esque green is one of the It shades online now.
The sweatshirts look just as good with leggings or jeans as they do the matching joggers – ideal if you’re on a budget and can’t splash on a full set.
The It accessories everyone’s wearing
If you’re on a smaller budget, on the hunt for an outfit elevator or your wardrobe’s full to the brim, Adanola’s accessories could be your first point of entry into the label.
Its branded canvas totes, socks and caps are obviously perfect for the gym girlies among you, but if you’re keen on adding a sports-luxe element to your everyday looks, get them on your radar.
The best daywear
The tracksuits might get the Instagram airtime, but the brand’s everyday wear – including bomber jackets, Skims dupe T-shirts and cotton trousers – is well worth a shout out, too.
Coloured co-ords are big news for summer (they’re just so easy), and this modest chocolate set would look great with a tan shoulder bag and gold slides.
The off-duty bottoms you need
I had to put myself on a ban from wearing my olive green Adanola joggers from fear they’d become to baggy since I wore them twice a week from the day they arrived. Size-wise, I’d typically go for a large for a roomy, comfy fit, but I size down in Adanola. The slimmer fit means they work well for off-duty days when I want to look a little more elevated. I wear mine with a white T-shirt, Adidas Samba trainers, oversized sunnies and a leather crossbody – highly recommend.
