I recently did a wardrobe audit and one brand came up time and again: AllSaints. The British label first got my attention in the early 00s for its tiered boho skirts – as seen on Sienna Miller in her Jude Law era – I never got one then (two words: student budget) but in recent years, I’ve invested in other pieces. AllSaints is perhaps best known for its quality, effortlessly cool leather jackets and I’ve had three over the last decade. I’ve written before about my love of the Hadley slip, which I now have in two colours. And in winter, I bought some black minimal western-style ankle boots that I know will last me for seasons to come.
AllSaints falls into fashion editor Krissy’s ‘high high street’ category, with dresses going up to £250 and leather jackets at around the £300-mark (though there are lots on sale at the moment, including this classic biker). However, its summer collection is full of affordable gems; there are plenty of stand-out pieces under £100, which, if you look after them, will see you through summer holidays and festivals season-on-season.
Easy cut-offs
Denim cut-offs are a summer staple and like the rest of its denim, AllSaints’ are stand-out. Invest in a pair and you’ll wear them on repeat until September. For festival season, Kate Moss and Alexa Chung at Glastonbury in the 2010s should be your style inspiration. Just add a tee and some sandals (or wellies) and you’re good to go. Stylish straw hats
If you hadn’t noticed, bucket hats are the headwear of the season. The two-tone version has sold out but the black one is still available.
Or if you’re after a fedora, this one offers a twist on a classic.
Minimal leather sandals
The heatwave has got us all in the market for sandals and leather ones will work hardest for you for comfort and longevity. Depending on your office dress code, I’d argue these sliders are smart enough for work as well as off-duty summer days.
Breezy t-shirt dresses
Summer dresses can be tricky to navigate (the strap marks!) and sometimes you just want something you can throw that will keep you a bit covered up and instantly more put together. These soft cotton maxis tick those boxes. The black is an instant guaranteed staple, but there’s green, red and pink if you fancy something brighter.
Chic straw bags
For me, AllSaints’ bags match the quality of its bikers and shoes thanks to premium materials, and if you’re in the market for a crossbody straw bag, the Ebro is a good bet. The natural straw version has already sold out, but the black is still in stock.
Floaty printed maxis
AllSaints is good on prints too and these semi-sheer cotton maxis are perfect beach-to-beach bar holiday wear. Leopard is a neutral in my book and florals won’t date, so one of these will come out year-on-year.
Statement swimsuits
Don’t scroll past AllSaints’ swimwear, my pick of this season’s range is the citrus orange tie-dye bandeau suit, which basically is the summer vibe. For something slightly subtler, its monochrome animal print one-piece is a standout. They’re made from recycled materials, too.
