Season two of And Just Like That is here – and with that it means some serious servings of fashion looks (oh, and Samantha, sort of!). Sex and the City was synonymous with strong feminist looks (Miranda), signature designer looks (Samantha’s Birkin collection) and quite frankly, nailing nineties and noughties looks, IMHO. So, the first season of the show’s popular spin-off did not disappoint – we still had plenty of familiar fabulous and quirky looks from our favourite characters; Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte.
You can expect the typical mismatch outfits from Carrie Bradshaw, that somehow always just work, when the first sneak peek we got was from Sarah Jessica Parker filming in a chic utility boilersuit, Fendi anklet bag matched with a clutch bag shaped like an actual pigeon. JW Anderson, no less. Good news, the pigeon clutch is no longer sold out but it will set you back over £600. There’s tons of tulle. And that wedding dress is back – we love a repurposed look.
If you’re looking to ape Carrie’s floaty silhouettes or Charlotte’s structured lines for less, or one of the new (favourite) characters such as Carrie’s new BFF Seemer Patel who (spoiler alert) rocks a very cool leopard print suit, keep scrolling for our hot take on the new season fits.
Since the much-needed fill of our favourite New York fashionista, it’s costume designer duo Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago have had the fashion set talking. So, dust off your Manolos (dupes) and grab your baguette bag – with our tips below you’ll have Carrie running for her money.
Accessorise, accessorise, accessorize
Three words: Fendi. Baguette. Swoon. So much of what makes up the familiar AJLT style comes from tip top accessories. And this season does not disappoint. Therefore, it’d be rude not to give the bags and shoes their own space – a sequin bag like this hot pink Fendi one is a great way to take your look from day to night. The real deal is a tad pricy, but the high street has our needs covered like these ASOS or H&M styles. Screams: fun!
The utility jumpsuit
Even though we’ve seen it all over Instagram, it’d be rude not to mention this look. And if anyone can pull off a pigeon clutch bag, it’s Carrie Bradshaw. The utility trend isn’t going anywhere any time soon, with cargo trousers, vests and gilets all over the high street. And a jumpsuit is an easy nod to the trend – pair the lose fitting style of this Alex Mill or River Island style with chic accessories and heels to add a feminine touch.
All-white everything
You can’t go wrong with an all-white outfit in the summer, especially if it’s got a bit of texture to it like SJP’s embroderie anglaise jumpsuit here. Whether it’s a two coord made up with this Aspiga blouse and Karen Millen linen trousers, or a more structured copy with this Zara jumpsuit.
Top it off with a big hat and big leather bag to match for ultimate summer chic.
Summer silhouettes
Arguably one of the chicest characters on the new seasons, Lisa Todd Wexley brings her fashion A-game in season 2. To match her effortless bob, this well put together two-piece lets the statement green Louis Vuitton jacket stand out and create a sharp boxy silhouette with the white palazzo trousers. Try this & Other Stories jacket with a pair of wide-leg trousers. Add another pop of colour and print with a silk neckerchief and gold strappy sandals to top the look off.
