I feel like the morning I woke up with boobs, they were big. I don’t really remember the gradual process of puberty, I just remember having really big boobs, and 20 years later they still are. Two children, fluctuations in weight, hormonal cycles and everything else women face, and the one constant in my body is that my bra size has never dropped below a C cup. Over the years, I have spent far too much time looking at pretty little lace bralettes, fantasising about how gorgeous they look, or teeny tiny thin bra straps that peek out from an oversized tee. Or the fantasy of all fantasies; being able to go out for the day braless.
The burning of bras in the 1960s was obviously a political statement but there has been many a time over the years that I’ve considered burning mine and never looking back. Is there any better feeling than at the end of the day reaching back and unclipping your bra? It’s like the best kind of freedom.

Where to shop for bras for bigger boobs
The high street has really woken up to the idea that women want an array of lingerie to choose from. Everything matters from size, style, colour and shape. But most importantly we want to see these styles reflected on women that look like us, and that’s exactly what these brands do…
Best for minimalists: Skims
If you haven’t tried Skims, you must. Kim Kardashian might not be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s fine, but the very clever cult brand she has created speaks for itself. Skims has managed to create comfortable, high-quality underwear with super inclusive sizing as well as neutral colours to match all skin tones. The US powerhouse brand is amazing for larger busted women that don’t want to feel like they are wearing a forklift to hold the girls up because we all want to wear cute little crop tops that feel minimal and match the aesthetic of the rest of our wardrobe, right?
There are a ton of gorgeous styles and it might be worth trying a few and seeing what works. The sizing ranges from XXS – 5XL so there really is something for everyone. I personally love the seamless sculpt bra, essentially it looks like a crop top but it provides proper support through the very smart technical fabric. There are nine shades but I love wearing a contrast colour, deep chocolate brown has been the colour of the season.
Best for comfort and style: M&S
It’s part and parcel of growing up in the UK that you buy your first bra from M&S. The high street giant will forever be a safe place for many women to buy lingerie; prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and the selection is vast.
It’s previously been overlooked on the style front but in the last few years the collections have really evolved and are far more fashion-forward. The gorgeous model-turned-mogul Rosie Huntington-Whiteley designs a range with the brand that starts at an A cup and goes up to an E cup, the pieces are feminine and really beautiful.
Best for speedy delivery: ASOS
If you’re a fan of next-day delivery (who isn’t?), competitive price points and fashion-forward pieces, then ASOS’s Curve collection lingerie is great, and their standard collection also goes up to a D cup. They really do follow trends closely and it’s great if you want something that feels very ‘of the moment’.
There are literally thousands of different styles and colourways and because most of the collection is under £30 it’s a really nice way to treat yourself without having to take out a small loan.
Best for extensive range: Savage X Fenty by Rihanna
Everything Rihanna creates seems to work and her underwear range is no exception. The brand has bralettes, t-shirt bras, strapless, sporty, sexy and every other single thing you could want covered.
The sizes start at an A cup and go up to H. The best thing is, style is not compromised which feels like a total win for us ladies with a bigger bust size.
