Your favourite detective is back to solve the case of where to buy the best designer dupes and this month it’s all about fan favourite: Ganni.
The Scandi brand is known for taking the traditional Scandinavian aesthetic with its minimalistic styles and classic shapes and putting a playful twist on it with bold prints – bright checks and leopard print are staples – and fun colours. Ganni is the epitome of the ‘cool girl’ vibe, basically.
Price tags going up to £1000 and while some might call it ‘affordable luxury’, I’d argue that’s not the case in this economy. If you’ve been lusting over one of the designs but wouldn’t or couldn’t part with that much money, then you’ve come to the right place. Being the self-appointed Triple D (that’s Designer Dupe Detective for those of you who don’t know me), I’m on a mission to help you save as many pennies as possible. The high street is full to the brim of fabulous Ganni alternatives, from dupes of the ever-popular Smock Dress to the trending Tie Front Blouse, you just need to know where to look.
So, unless I want a demotion I think it’s time to crack on and show you the goods.
The light denim jeans
I’m a sucker for jeans with a bit of a twist and these striped denim Ganni utility trousers are no exception. Stepping away from your regular plain blue straight jeans and switching to something with a cool print or unique cut will instantly add some interest to your outfit. However, the £275 price point definitely won’t be for everyone – sorry Ganni but we’re in a cost of living crisis. Luckily, there’s a whole load of high street alternatives waiting to be snapped up. From a near perfect dupe by Damson Madder for £200 less, to a fun wide leg version by Seventy + Mochi that also has a matching top – adorable!

Cotton suiting top
This sleeveless tailored top by Ganni is an absolute dream. It’s giving chic business woman on her way to rooftop drinks. For the blazer lovers among you, this style of top is the perfect alternative to wear on a summer date night. The fitted waist is ultra-flattering and the elegant strapless top will ensure you look sexy yet sophisticated. While Ganni’s version is priced at £345, the dupes start from as little as £17.99 and will still make you look like you spend your days being a boss bitch. Thank you Bershka for doing the Lord’s work.

Washed satin trousers
Cargo trousers are having a moment. They look great dressed up and down, instantly make you look like the coolest kid on the block, have 700 pockets to carry your endless supply of lipglosses and most important of all, are fabulously comfy – a bloated girl’s dream. Satin cargos are perfect for a girls night out, styled with heels and a bodysuit. Or, for every day wear, you can pair them with trainers and a fitted t-shirt.
Queen of dupes H&M has a great low waisted version for just £29.99 for the midriff-bearers and if you’re not a fan of the elasticated hems, Karen Millen has a great wide-leg alternative.

Cotton poplin V-neck frill collar shirt
70s style is making a comeback and oversized collars are coming along for the ride. Channel your inner Harry Styles with this fun frill collar shirt to instantly make a retro statement. While the Ganni version is adorable, spending £145 on a white shirt that I’m bound to somehow stain is risky business.
So, instead of potentially chucking my money down the drain via a food spilling mishap, I’ve trawled the web for some equally as cute, but vastly less expensive dupes. NA-KD’s iteration has a high neck so would look great under a knitted vest, whilst Nobody’s Child’s short puff sleeves is perfect for the summer months.

Silk smock maxi dress
Ganni’s silk smock maxi dress is one of their most popular products and it’s easy to see why. Its classic shape makes it such an easy throw on piece that will always be a wardrobe staple and the ruffled hem skirt is just the perfect amount of billowy – no fears of getting mistaken for a tent over here.
Unfortunately, the price tag doesn’t cater for the thrifty girls but as always the high street has our backs. Accessorize sells an almost perfect dupe that will have people double guessing whether it’s the real deal, and if you’re after something a little sexier, Never Fully Dressed have a sheer version that would look incredible over a black bikini on holiday.

Logo wool mix vest
The Ganni knit vest is one of the ‘It’ products of the year and I don’t see it losing momentum any time soon. It’s playful colours and kitschy design look so chic paired with a simple A-line mini or worn over a classic white shirt.
There are so many great styles and colour variations of this vest on the high street, from Kitri’s pink and red version, which will forever be a winning colour combo for me, to a gorgeous pastel design by YAS that will save you £150! Add to your basket now and thank me later.

Printed cotton mini smock
This whimsical mini is the perfect frolicking through the fields dress, or just going for a sunny brunch with friends, whatever is more your vibe. The square neckline and puff sleeves are classic Ganni and florals will always be essential for summer – groundbreaking, I know.
Whether it’s the babydoll style of this dress that you’re finding yourself dreaming of or the dainty pink floral pattern, I’ve found dupes to cover all your wants and needs. Abercrombie and Fitch is having a moment when it comes to summer dresses and they have nailed the dainty babydoll style with their £58 dress – a quarter of the price of the original! While French Connection’s has a beautiful floral high neck alterative which would look super chic with heels for a summer event.

Wild welt buckle ballerinas
If you know me, you know that, to my poor boyfriend’s dismay, I have a soft spot for ugly shoes. If they look like something that your mum would gasp in disgust at, then I will most likely love them.
So, when I saw these Ganni ballet pumps, they took a special place in my heart. The chunky buckles paired with the square cut of the pointed toe are just *chefs kiss*. They look (and are) both chic and expensive. If you want to gain entry to the ugly shoe gang, but don’t have £300 to spare then fear not. Zara has some fabulously unattractive stud-covered pumps that look straight off the Ganni runway, and Stradivarius has a fun denim take on them which would be any Y2K girlies dream.

Cotton poplin blouse
Another cult Ganni product, its tie-front peplum blouse is one of its bestselling designs and it’s clear to see why. The minimalistic style contrasted with the oversized cut and dramatic sleeves makes for the perfect effortless statement piece, and at £135 it’s one of the cheaper items.
However, if that’s still approximately 1000x out of your budget then firstly, join the club, and secondly the high street has plenty of affordable alternatives on offer. From a beautiful, ruched style by River Island to a stunning, structured design by Frame, there’s an alternative available for every price point.

Crochet bucket hat
Last but not least, this wouldn’t be a Ganni dupes investigation without featuring its ever-popular crochet bucket hat. An adorable bucket hat is a must-have this season – all you have to do is head to TikTok and you’ll see endless videos of crafty girls crocheting ones for themselves.
But, if you weren’t listening in your textiles lessons and don’t want to have to dip into your savings to buy one, DDD has you sorted. Whether you love the Ganni-style stripes, are more of a checkered lover or just want to keep it simple with a block colour, there are bucket hat dupes to fill all your desires, starting from just £12.99…
