I’m travelling to see Beyoncé in Germany this month and I can’t wait! I’m going with a group of girlfriends and really want to make an effort, we have standing tickets so will be dancing all night. What should I wear?

Firstly, congrats on securing tickets! Being 270,032 in the queue for the second day in a row when tickets launched had my blood pressure sky-high, but after seeing her in London a few weeks ago, it was all worth it.
Any Beyoncé fan knows that your concert outfit needs extra consideration. With bangers like Break My Soul and Heated, you can expect to be dancing all night whether you have seated, standing or VIP tickets. You don’t want to end up too hot or you’ll have to carry your coat or jumper, or worse, leave it on the arena floor for the duration. Given how long concerts can be, heels are a no-no unless you’re a seasoned pro. Restrictive or too-tight clothes won’t be comfortable for constant siting and standing, and small bags are a must since they’re a requirement in most stadiums and arenas now.
The last line? You want to look like you’ve made lots of effort while not feeling like you’ve made lots of effort.
The answer? You’ll need to adopt a ‘glasual’ dress code. That’s ‘glam casual’. Think cargo pants with a metallic handbag, or a silky maxi skirt with trainers. It’s comfortable but dressy. Ideal when you need to impress a queen…
Outfit 1: Jeans + tank top
This minimal combo is giving Crazy In Love. Swap Bey’s infamous denim cut-offs from the music video for high-waisted jeans and team with slick trainers and gold jewellery. It makes for an outfit you can sit and dance in and one that real fans will note the reference for – extra style points.
Outfit 2: T-shirt + leather trousers
Off-duty Bey is all about an edgy look, and what better than an oversized logo T-shirt and leather trousers? Super-fans will already have official merchandise T-shirts on order, but Anine Bing’s It tees are the next best thing. Wear with a chunky gold necklace and another cult buy, Converse’s Comme des Garcons high-top trainers.
Outfit 3: Mini dress + cowboy boots
Think what would Beyoncé wear to a Beyoncé concert, and *this* is the vibe. It’s Alien Superstar IRL. A metallic crochet-style vest dress teamed with statement cowboy boots and a casual leather jacket, this look will get you noticed in the crowds for all the right reasons. This silver Zara shoulder bag is the ultimate accessory and leaves you hands-free for a cocktail and a (pretend) microphone.
Outfit 4: Cargo pants + crop top
Throw it back to Survivor for extra fan points. All-camel is a Bey signature and by giving it a utility twist, you can nod to an iconic vintage Beyoncé song from the Destiny’s Child era. I’d recommend sizing up in New Look’s cargo trousers, which come in a ton of colours if you want to try something different. Add to the casual feel with It trainers and a nylon crossbody in the same shade.
Outfit 5: Sweatshirt + shorts
True Beyhive members have seen or attended Beychella, so sport a fun slogan sweatshirt and denim shorts to pay homage. A Houston or Texas print is the only acceptable style on such an occasion, and you’ll wear this minimal navy number time and time again. New Balance’s cult 530 style are a perfect addition, plus a handful of gold jewellery, of course.
Outfit 6: Double denim + suede boots
Y2K Bey was all about denim, and it happens to be big news for spring/summer 2023 too so the high street is full to the brim with options. I love the idea of a denim bustier, especially when teamed with the It skirt of 2023: the denim maxi. Suede boots are a Bey favourite, and a tan block-heeled pair have a summery feel while still being practical for all night dancing.
