Hi Eliza readers, I’m Chloe, known on Instagram as @chloejade_story and I’m super excited to say I’m Eliza’s new columnist, championing us petite women. Short queens unite!
I’ve been in the fashion industry now for close to a decade and I can’t wait to share all my tips and tricks to elevate your everyday wardrobe.
Why the secret to my style is building an evergreen wardrobe
I love quick and easy dressing, styling outfits to look effortlessly chic and having an ‘evergreen’ wardrobe (full of classics you’ll turn to year after year) that’ll stand the test of time.
So if you’ve ever felt hopeless looking into your wardrobe, wondering why you have nothing to wear (as you stare at piles of clothes, obviously), fear no more, I’m here to help.
Having reached my max fun-sized height of 5ft 1, I like to think I know a thing or two about nailing the art of the elongated physique. I’ll help you navigate the high street to find the perfect pair of jeans without the dreaded ‘homemade cuff’ or expensive seamstress trip.
I, for sure, was close to owning shares in Wonderweb – and I’ve no doubt petite ladies will get this reference. I bought so much of that tape to take up trouser hems, I had drawers full of it. I really have tried it all. I’ll also be swapping style tips to give every wardrobe that luxury touch, without the hefty price tag.
Three looks that sum up my personal style:
A neutral colour palette is timeless, chic and always looks polished.
Co-ords make getting dressed easy, which is what I’m all about.
The blazer is deeply ingrained in my style DNA, and this one is a favourite.
My colour palette
There’s nothing I love more than a neutral colour palette and some seriously sharp tailoring. My go-to high street brands have to be Arket, Zara, Warehouse, & Other Stories and H&M.
I spend hours looking for good designer dupes and browsing all the ‘New In’ sections. Chances are, if you ask me where something I’m wearing is from, the answer will be ‘Zara’.
My fashion muses
My style icons have always been the Olsen Twins, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, 80’s Julia Roberts (niche, but so chic) and the good old British public!
Scandinavian and Parisian women are the ultimate beacons of chic, IMO.
All about me
Besides my love for fashion and classic dressing, I also adore all things interior design (I basically own all of H&M Home), manifestation, boujee candles, overpriced coffee (it has me in a chokehold), city breaks and skincare.
I can’t wait to check in with you monthly to chat about all things shopping and not be limited by the sorry state of affairs the ‘petite’ section of stores can be. More on this to come! *shudders*
If your aim this year is like mine, which is to create the perfect capsule wardrobe full of great quality items, then let me be your pocket-sized guide. See you all soon.
