Easter can call for a multitude of plans, from church services to family dinners or maybe just a weekend sat on the sofa eating chocolate. Whatever you have planned, you need an Easter outfit that delivers on both looking great and tapping into all those Spring feels.
After all, Easter’s not just about the eggs, it also marks the perfect time to do your big wardrobe switchover and re-introduce all your favourite spring styles ready for the warm weather that’s (hopefully) on the horizon.

Wondering what to wear? Here’s my pick of the best trends to get involved in for Easter outfit ideas and beyond…
Hair bow
There’s something incredibly festive about a hair bow — maybe because they’re reminiscent of presents and decorations. A hair bow, whether you’re keeping your outfit lowkey or going all out and slipping into a pretty dress, is a cute finishing touch to any Easter outfit.
If you’re having a chilled day, wear yours with cosy knitwear and jeans or your most comfortable loungewear. But if you’re having a fancy dinner or feel like putting your glad rags on, pair yours with a floral midi dress and some ballet flats.
Bright stripes
Rainbow stripes are as close as you can get to dressing up like an old-school Easter egg. So, why not whip out the bright stripes for the big day? The good thing about this trend is that you can find stripes in all colours and thicknesses, so there will be something to please everyone’s tastes. And, you’ll be able to wear it all spring and summer long.
To be really on theme this Easter, you’ll want to go for muted, pastel stripes à la Olivia Rubin. If you’re overwhelmed by the bright colour palette, keep the rest of your outfit simple. Wear striped multi-coloured knits with bleached and off-white jeans or crisp white shirts and T-Shirts, and pair bright, stripy dresses with white trainers and dainty jewellery.
Pistachio
Much like mini eggs, I’m not picky when it comes to selecting the perfect pastel for an Easter outfit so if pistachio isn’t your thing don’t worry, pastel pink, lemon yellow and light blues will all do the trick too. For me however, pistachio and mint green tones take the top spot this year as my pastel of choice. Why? It feels a little less “done” than other shades and it was the pastel of choice at Fendi’s spring summer show. Need I say more?
If you’re heading out, a pistachio green tea dress and sandals is the perfect option however this shade looks just as good if you’re opting to lounge at home in a tracksuit too. Finish with a pair of cream cashmere socks and you’ve got the ideal comfy yet cool look.
White
The vanilla girl aesthetic may have taken hold on TikTok but an all white outfit is nothing new when it comes to aceing Easter and spring dressing. A white shirt dress is eternally stylish and, if you want to add some interest, try defining your waist with the addition of a belt or printed scarf.
When it comes to accessories, head to toe white may make you look like you’re off for a day at Wimbledon (although if you are, go forth). Instead, pair whites with neutrals or colour pop accessories. And of course layers of gold jewellery: Jessica Skye’s statement earrings are the perfect inspo.
Florals
If you’ve been waiting for warmer weather to re-introduce all your favourite floral pieces to your wardrobe once again, Easter is the perfect occasion to start. I’m obsessed with Rachael Martin’s puff sleeve dress from Faithfull The Brand, however if you’re looking for a more purse-friendly option I’d suggest heading to Nobody’s Child and checking out their fun floral dresses.
On the other hand, if dresses aren’t your style, try an embroidered cardigan. Paired with a satin slip skirt or pair of straight leg jeans and you’ve got an easy Easter outfit that you can re-work again and again.
Gingham
Miranda Priestly may have sneered at florals for spring but I’m pretty sure gingham takes the top spot as the most seasonal of prints, especially if you opt for sugary pastel shades. While it may not be groundbreaking, there’s a reason why this outfit formula works perfectly for this time of year: it’s fun, makes a statement and feels classic without being boring.
This shirred top from French Connection is just screaming to be worn for an Easer soiree. The puff sleeves and mini check print nod to the spring-ready cottagecore trend. Just add a pair of straight leg jeans and simple slingbacks to finish the look.
Chocolate
Okay, okay, rich brown tones definitely don’t scream spring, but if we’re dressing on brand for Easter then I’m not sure anything fits the bill more than a chocolate inspired outfit. Let’s be real, by this point I’ll most definitely have made my way through many an easter egg and even more malteaster bunnies so dressing like one fits the bill perfectly.
To make chocolate-y shades spring appropriate, think about what you’re pairing them with. Noorie’s ice whites freshen up the look but I also love the contrast of brown tones against hot pink for something a little more unusual.
