Zara’s decisive older sister, & Other Sister’s sleeker cousin – Mango is a high street brand you turn to for holiday outfits, wedding guest dresses, elevated classics, tailoring and denim. Founded in Barcelona in 1984 and standing alone from the Inditex and H&M group, it’s a brand that’s on every fashion girl’s radar (and not just for *that satin pleated pink dress* editors and influencers went crazy for over on Insta).
There’s really no surprise you’ll spot Mango on Eliza’s edits for Chanel dupes, Hermes inspired sandals, Toteme dupes, Max Mara lookalikes, and best alternatives for expensive handbags. Mango designers have a skill for spinning trends into elegant pieces with an air of luxury (for less) at the fore.
This edit features stand out pieces from the Simon Miller x Mango collection, which launched earlier this year and is still serving up gorgeous vibrant crochet and printed linen pieces, all drawing upon a mix of Californian and Mediterranean style. There’s also Mango’s limited-edition Selection Collection, which boasts linen blazers and flowing satin slip dresses.
I’ve also included some of Mango’s new denim range that launched earlier this year. Their latest circularity criteria makes sure their denim is more recyclable. How? By using 100% cotton, a single type of fibre rather than a mix of fibres, and removing things like jacron labels to make it easier for the garments to be repurposed. The brand’s also making sure at least 20% of the cotton used to make its denim garments is recycled and is committed to reducing waste from their production.
So, what are the best new pieces at Mango? Right now, it’s a stylish mix of crochet dresses, luxe eveningwear, and their unrivalled selection of accessories that are coming out on top.
Summer highlights
From vibrant knit co-ords that have ‘festival outfit‘ written all over them, to crochet dresses that’ll take you from poolside to sunset party, Mango has everything you could need for a dream holiday wardrobe this summer.
Mango’s denim
Mango’s focus on durable denim production helps ensure its jeans feel expensive and wash really well over time. For a competitive high street price and comfy soft denim fits, you can’t go wrong. This season it’s introduced the influencers’ favourite denim midi skirt in stylish longer lengths.
Distinguished separates
No fuss nor frills, just premium-looking fits and fabrics for this selection of Mango separates, which you could reach for time and time again in the mornings before work or important events.
Forever jackets
Every season, Mango has the upper hand on the high street when it comes to its selection of expensive-looking coats and jackets, including some of the best tweed jacket Chanel dupes. Some are an investment buy, in the hundreds rather than under £100 depending on the fabric they’re made from, but you can see, and feel why they’re a bit more pricey. I’ve never regretted buying a Mango coat or jacket.
Luxe eveningwear
Out of this entire edit, the satin-finish suit jackets in beige and black might be the most tempting for me for a cost-per-wear item. I just know they’d be so useful for throwing on over a dress or jumpsuits for weddings and parties now and later in the year.
