It’s finally December and that means one thing: it’s PARTY SEASON! For me, this means running all over London heading from one event to another, so I need to make sure I have a look prepped for every occasion since I spend little to no time at home for the first three weeks of the month.
Other than reading Eliza every day for what I should be wearing for Christmas parties, I turn to my favourite place on the internet for inspiration: Pinterest. By using a few key choice key words, you can find chic outfits to replicate over party season, which is exactly what I’ve been doing.
I’m no stranger to taking inspo from everyone’s favourite online bookmarking site – I regularly recreate looks I spot, and have extensive boards full of Pinterest outfit inspiration for every occasion. I love to recreate looks I see using things I already own (or renting the pieces I don’t have!)
Here are a few looks I’ve seen on Pinterest that I will be recreating this party season…
My top Pinterest party outfit inspiration looks
1. Stand out in sequins
Barbiecore was the trend of the summer and it isn’t going anywhere this party season. I have seen so many, beautiful sparkly numbers popping up when I’m browsing Pinterest for party outfit inspiration.
Before you shop your sequinned pieces, please remember that sequins aren’t biodegradable and around 7 million pieces will end up in landfill this year, so it’s worth trying to wear what you already own, buy second-hand or rent your sparkly numbers this year!
This dress from LK Bennett will last you for years and the brand has recently introduced rental options, perfect for the party season.
This piece from Rixo is definitely an investment piece but it’s worth it! Check out the gorgeous bow detailing on the back.
This pretty mini dress from & Other Stories is perfect if you prefer a lighter shade. Style with platforms or boots for a very on-trend look.
2. Suited and booted
I found tons of mesh trousers + blazer looks on Pinterest and genuinely gasped at how stunningly simple it was! This is the perfect look for those who don’t want to be too showy or even better, taking their office look from day to night. All you need is a black tuxedo style blazer – preferably one that can fasten and covers your bum.
Well I may not have shopped in Zara for 3 years now, but I was very impressed when I saw these.
These are printed, offering a little more coverage but still just as fancy.
Take your look to the next level with these amazing boots.
If you aren’t feeling brave enough to wear completely sheer trousers then go for sequined pants for a little sparkle.
3. Green goddess
Green will always be one of my favourite colours for Christmas and in these looks, no one will be calling you the Grinch…
Be the belle of the ball in this beautiful satin gown (there’s a matching feather bolero too!)
Turn heads (and reduce your carbon footprint) in this rented 16Arlington dress.
This velvet dress is so classic, it will be a piece you reach for year after year with a swap of accessories.
4. Sultry silk
There is nothing I love more than a chilled Christmas party at a friend’s house and I always opt for comfort. A sultry slip dress layered with a knit and crystal slingbacks is party perfection.
This slip is the ultimate investment piece and comes in so many colours.
This super soft knit from Hush is a thing of luxury – maybe one to add to your Christmas wish list?
These are the perfect party shoe complete with a nice, low heel so you can dance the night away.
5. Velvet dream
My outfit for the Eliza Christmas party was an old velvet Monsoon number from the back of my wardrobe and I hadn’t worn it for years. Velvet is the perfect fabric for Christmas and it just elevates an outfit, making even the simplest of outfits more glamorous. I paired mine with gold platforms and an embroidered bag.
