You’ve likely heard of Mercury Retrograde, unless you’ve been living under some sort of rock (Cancer signs, that you?). But seriously, pop culture has taken astrology to new heights and alongside it, it’s dragged Mercury Retrograde through the gutter with warnings of ‘your ex will return’ or ‘they’ll ghost you’. Whilst there may well be a time and a place for astrology-based caution, Mercury gets a lot of attention just because it retrogrades three times a year.
However, I’m here to tell you about the slightly rarer Venus retrograde, what it means for your sign and how to fashionably prepare.
Our planet of love, values and aesthetics will be in retrograde starting 23rd July – 4th September and we’ve already entered the shadow zone of this transit on 19th June. This is big news for the summer!
Venus will be reversing through the sign of Leo, which will set the scene, (pun intended, as Leo’s love the limelight), for what our hearts will value during these months as well as how we want to dress. Looking our best will be top of our agenda, however retrograde planets offer us the opportunity to rest, reassess and reset; which gives us the ideal energy to switch up our style and play with looks.
Think swapping neutrals for colour and not permanent changes like bleaching your dark hair – you’ve been warned. In fact the best way to utilise the Venus in Leo energy is to relax and have fun, channelling this playful feeling into your wardrobe…
Leo
Leo, this transit is happening in your house of self – so you’ll be feeling extra experimental with your style, as you experience some respite from the usual attention you garner – we promise it’s a good thing! Virgo
Solitude is calling you Virgo, now is the time to take a rest from your usual play hard, work harder mode and put down your organisation hat. This transit is encouraging you to sleep, dream and be with your inner world – who knows what you’ll discover.
