So, you’ve bagged the golden ticket to Glastonbury 2023 and are counting down the days till you make your way to Worthy Farm. But, with days to spare, the thought of packing your festival essentials and deciding on your Glastonbury outfits feels overwhelming. Am I right?
If you’ve dared check the weather forecast it’s currently predicting a mix of sun, clouds and showers (there’s a surprise!), so in classic UK festival style, we must prepare for every eventuality. We’re talking practical (but stylish) boots, fun jackets, comfy layers and festival essentials that’ll make five days of camping and outdoor living that bit more bearable (and maybe even glamorous).
From my experience, you should avoid taking too much with you. I don’t want to trek miles to a pitch with too much weight on my back like my novice camping days of DofE (never again). That said, I don’t want to forget anything either that could make the experience comfier.
So, I’ve pulled resources from what I’ve learnt from festival camping over the years to cover all the handy essentials, from sliders you can slip on for nipping to the loo in the middle of the night to lightweight wellies you can wear even when the sun’s shining.
Scroll down for my favourite Glastonbury outfit ideas for 2023:
Classic Kate
Channel Kate Moss with classic cut-off denim shorts and a black waist coat or a graphic tee. If the sun’s shining, match them with a pair of studded gladiator sandals, or if it’s threatening rain switch to a pair of sturdy Dr Martens. Complete downpour? It’s time for some long wellies.
Boho queen
For all the Coachella vibes, layer tassel waistcoats with tassle bags, cowboy boots and long flowing tops over denim cut offs.
Glam girly
A summer take on the knitted co-ord trend, this top and skirt combo makes for a vibrant look that still looks super glam (plus, you can easily roll them up into a rucksack without any fear of creases).
Cool crochet
For ultimate comfort and style, you can’t go wrong with a shorts and shirt co-ord at a festival. I love this matching set that taps into the huge crochet trend of the summer.
Disco diva
If you’re the main character of the friendship group who brings all the glitter make up, then embrace the huge summer sequins trend and your inner disco diva for your outfit too.
Space cowboy
We can’t get enough of wearing denim, double denim, and even triple denim this summer and you can take on the trend for festival season with statement metallic accessories.
Utility chic
Keep things practical and stylish with a timeless utility look, mixing khaki and neutral shades for an outfit that’s anything but camouflaged.
Casual colour pops
It might be hot in the daytime, but as soon as the sun goes down, prepare for temps to become a lot chillier and reach for a festival-ready pair of trousers. Whether it’s a pair of sequin trousers, flared trousers, cargo trousers or striped relaxed trousers like these, you won’t regret packing a pair to take you from morning through to the morning after!
Festival essentials
And finally, these are the essentials to tick off your list, whether you’re a seasoned pro or are starting your festival packing from scratch.
