As I recently wrote, even the thought of having bare nails fills me with dread. But my real nails (destroyed by years of gels and mistreatment) fail to grow anywhere near the length I’d like them to be, so about a year ago, I turned to extensions.
I know, I know, extensions are not exactly going to help the breakage situ, but at least they cover it up and make things look a little better for the time being (yes, the ‘band aid over a bullet hole’ approach is my specialty).
I’m now totally hooked. Every three weeks, like clockwork, I’m back at the salon with my beloved nail artist Harmeet, picking a new colour or design and begrudgingly placing my hands back under the UV lamp (with my SPF, ofc) countless times.

It’s not a habit great for my bank balance, diary or the health of my nails, which therefore makes it even more frustrating when one or more of my nails snaps between appointments.
However, I’ve now discovered a nail glue that’s totally changed the game for me and allowed me to keep things looking polished and stylish when any breakages occur. And what’s more, it’s a mere £5.69 and can be bought with ease on Amazon.
Extra Strong Nail Glue for Acrylic Nails: my verdict
- Price: £5.69
- When to use: for press-on nails, to fix broken extensions or gels, for nail art
- Benefits: super strong, long-lasting and affordable
Why is the Airre nail glue so good?
The glue has over 2000 views on Amazon, with an overall 4.3 stars. And let me tell you, these reviews speak for themselves; in fact, whenever I return to my nail salon for infills, my nail artist is always pleasantly surprised by how long the rescued nails have held on for using this.
It is super strong, and lasts for absolutely ages, making it a gem to have in your arsenal. It’s also a super-cute little bottle, making it easy to transport. I keep mine in my regular handbag for on-the-go top ups or major incidents (like the time my full extension came off in the Zara changing rooms).
But for me, the best thing about the Airre nail glue is its versatility. More on that next…
What can you use the Airre nail glue for?
I bought the glue for extension repairs, which range from entire nails falling off to mid-way splits and breakages (which in all honesty, are harder to fix back on seamlessly). The glue is great for these purposes and has become my go-to for any extension issues between appointments, but it’s certainly not the only thing it can be useful for.
For example, if you wear press-on nails and want a glue that’ll keep them on for a good long while, this is far stronger than the formulas you’ll get in your press-on pack.
It can also be cleverly used for nail art, too. If you want to get creative with gems and the like, this will be an excellent addition to your mani kit.
How to apply the Airre nail glue
This is obviously dependent on what you are buying the glue for in the first place, but for popping broken extensions or press-ons onto a natural nail, you just need to brush on a fine layer of glue onto the false nail as well as your own clean nail.
Next, apply the nail at a 45-degree angle and gently press down. The glue dries quickly so bear this in mind.
Finish up by pressing down on your nail for 5-10 seconds and you’re good to go!
