January is well and truly crappy and that’s coming from someone who celebrates their birthday this month – cheers, mum. But whilst Christmas and New Year might be a thing of the past, that doesn’t mean it’s time to hang up your dancing shoes. In fact, I’d say it’s time to end your evening ritual of putting on your sad, withered slippers to accompany you on your trips from the living room to the kitchen and back, and instead chuck on a fab pair of heels and start feeling yourself once again.
That is why I, the Designer Dupe Detective, am here to help you get through the post-Christmas blues with a plethora of Amina Muaddi-esque shoe-shaped treats with endorphin-increasing price tags. Because you know you deserve it!
Gilda Crystal Dupes
Crystals? Check. Perspex? Check. Pop of colour? Check. The three ingredients for the absolute perfect pair of heels to bring your January mood from a measly 4/10 to a strong 9.5. And, at less than a 20th of the price of the Amina Muaddi Gildas that they’re a dead ringer of, you have absolutely no excuse to not put these Simmi London heels straight in your basket.

Dalida Dupes
If one good thing came out of 2022, it was the return of platform heels. There is no time more in my life that I feel like ‘that girl’ than when I’m strutting (OK, probably more like clomping if I’m being honest with myself) around in platforms, and the Amina Muaddi Dalida’s are what Tall Girl Energy dreams are made of.
However, the price tag is the stuff of nightmares. But fear not, Mango, my trusty dupe provider, has pulled it out the bag with these drool worthy alternatives.

Rosie Dupes
Ok, I know I just spent a whole paragraph preaching about platform heels as if my life depended on it, but kitten heels are also the look of the moment – yes, I know, I’m very fickle, but both are classics. If you only buy one pair of heels this year, it must be these ASOS Design slingbacks. The perspex, the diamantes, the teeny ultra-comfy heel – Cinderella who?! In these Rosie dupes, you’ll most certainly be the belle of the ball, or the bar, or the bottomless brunch…

Lupita Dupes
Whilst I’m a self-confessed, neutral-loving girl – the brightest colour in my wardrobe is a warm camel, there’s nothing like adding a pop of colour to your outfit to instantly brighten your mood. Heels are my favourite way to bring some colour to my otherwise simple outfits, and these electric blue Steve Madden heels (which are a fabulous dupe of the Amina Muaddi Lupitas) are the perfect heels to do the job. Plus, the thick heel means you’ll be guaranteed comfort for longer because despite what you’ve heard, pain is not beauty!

Camelia Dupes
Satin court shoes with a giant embellished brooch on the toes will never not be a classic, and the Camelia courts are no exception. However, the price tag is another story. All I can say is – not in this economy. So, once again, three cheers to Mango for being the ultimate plug when it comes to the best dupes a girl could want. Poor girls deserve sparkly toes, too.
