British Summer Time Hyde Park Festival takes place over three weekends in June and July and given its upmarket festival vibe – think artisan traders and not an inflatable chair in sight – your outfit needs extra consideration. Combine that with temperamental weather (we’ve had highs of 30 degrees recently, but thunderstorms and rain are predicted soon) plus an all-day standing-only event and you’ll understand your look needs to be as fun and fashion-forward as it is functional and comfortable.
So what to wear? I’ve pinned down the five outfit combinations to know that Just. Make. Sense for a festival in the centre of London in the middle of summer. Are you ready?
Outfit Ideas for BST Hyde Park festival
Outfit 1: Crochet dress + denim jacket + chunky sandals
If the weather is boasting sunny spells, run with the opportunity to wear this summer’s It dress: the crochet midi. See it as the perfect in-between for the UK weather: it looks summery and feels like a summer dress thanks to the airy loose weave, but when the evening chill sets in, you’ll be grateful for a knitted number! Team with an oversized denim jacket, chunky sandals and bright sunglasses.
Outfit 2: Co-ords + cowboy boots
Coloured co-ords are an easy way to nail festival fashion – there’s no faffing around the morning of trying to work out which top works with which skirt since the brand has done all the hard work for you.
If you’re anything like me at a festival, you’ll be eating and drinking all day, so between that, running around taking videos and dancing for 10 hours straight, a loose-fit co-ord will be a comfortable option. Team with sleek cowboy boots and a bucket hat for a chic festival vibe.

Outfit 3: Denim skirt + logo tee + trainers
If you’re heading to BST Hyde Park on June 24th or 25th to see Pink, this is a look she’d approve of. A denim skirt, logo T-shirt and high top Converse scream 90s – and if you can’t do a throwback fashion look at a festival then when can you?!
As much as this look nods to the theme of the day, it’s also low-key, so whether you’re wary of typical festival fashion or heading out for brunch or dinner pre or post-BST, it’s a chic look that won’t feel out of place, and you can bet you’ll wear it again.
Outfit 4: Fringed jacket + mini dress + boots
A timeless festival look combines tan suede separates with a statement printed mini dress and giant sunglasses – it’s giving Kate Moss and Alexa Chung at Glastonbury in the noughties. Tan suede feels lighter in a summery outfit and adds a casual element: this jacket and boot combo would work with any printed dress, but feels most modern and impactful with a cute mini.
Outfit 5: Utility jacket + metallic skirt + trainers
A high-low fashion look always earns you maximum style points since getting the balance right is no mean feat. The easiest way? Use a high to low ratio of 1:2. That means for every glam element you have in your look, throw in two casual parts. It’s the reason this metallic skirt looks so good with minimal trainers and an oversized utility jacket.
Throw on a grey ribbed vest underneath, big hoop earrings and a cap and make your way to the main stage.
