It’s finally getting warmer, which means we’re firmly in bare-leg season. We can roll out the dresses, skirts and shorts we’ve been waiting all spring to debut. Hurrah! But, with this comes the (literal) rub: chafing.
While a lot of us experience chafing between our thighs, it can also crop up around our armpits. Although it’s at its worst during the summer months, it can be an all year round problem, as anyone who runs regularly will attest. But girlies, help is at hand, in the form of chafing cream.
So sweat not, because there are a whole host of beauty products specifically targeted towards helping to prevent the dreaded chafe.

Megababe Thigh Rescue, £12
For anti-chafing on the go, look no further than Megababe’s Thigh Rescue. This stick formulation easily glides onto the skin so you can tackle any errant chafing that crops up throughout the day, with aloe vera and seed oils helping to calm down irritated skin.
Little Champ Functional Moisturising Stick, £6.99
From H&M’s great-value OHH! line (it stands for Oh Hey Hero, which feels apt here), this little stick is a favourite of Eliza’s beauty editor. In her words: “It’s colourful, cute and easy to apply, plus it’s made with nourishing shea butter and sunflower oil.” Oh, and you’ll get change from a tenner.
BeYou Anti Chafing Cream, £12.95
A must have for holidays, BeYou’s Anti-Chafing Cream is the whole package. Apply the silky cream in the morning to prevent friction rubbing you the wrong way throughout the day, or alternatively on top of already-chafed areas to relieve uncomfortable rubbing. Not only is this chafing cream water-resistant, but it also contains colloidal silver, an ingredient loved for its antibacterial properties.
WooWoo Saddle Sore! Chafing Balm, £6.75
A truly multi-hyphenate product, this occlusive balm can be used as a post-shave finishing product to minimise redness, applied after exercise to calm irritation, or as a preventative layer on those areas you know all too well are going to cause chafing throughout the day.
Lush Silky Underwear Dusting Powder, £11
A powder is a great option not only for nipping chafing in the bud, but also absorbing excess oil and sweat. As the name suggests, this powder can be dusted on at the beginning of your day and will leave skin feeling silky and smooth, as well as leaving a delightfully clean fragrance. It can also be applied under the arms as an alternative to aluminum deodorants, so consider all your boxes ticked.
