I had short nails for years that stubbornly refused to grow any more than a thin 1mm of white tip and remained in perpetual terrible condition. Obviously, the opportunity for nail art has historically been therefore very limited.
Now on the other hand (pardon the pun), I’ve become a full blown nail addict (acrylics are my vice) and therefore I’ll jump at any opportunity to tie my nails into my wider aesthetic. Spooky nails for Halloween, extravagant manicures for NYE and of course, festive designs for Christmas are all at the top of my list.

Getting a Christmas-themed mani in December (or earlier, if you’re really keen) has become a necessary part of my ritual to get me in the festive spirit. I tend to opt for a plain coloured manicure most year round, so Christmas gives me a real excuse to go ham on the glitter, gold and all-round gaudiness.
While I’ve yet to master doing my own nail art, the saved folder of nail inspiration that I take to my local salon is ever-growing. Below, find my favourite festive nail art to wear on your fingertips this Christmas.
