Twice a year, fashion’s greatest and most stylish attend catwalk shows for a full four weeks, spanning four cities – New York, London, Milan and Paris.
Of course, there’s plenty of noteworthy takeaways from the catwalks themselves (double denim and tonal dressing anyone?), after all, they’ll influence what will filter down to the high street and what we’ll all be buying come autumn, but I’d argue the real must-see moments happen on the frow (that’s front row) at the show, or on the pavements outside.
So from Hailey Bieber at Moncler to the knife dress (yes, that’s right), I’ve rounded up the most notable highlights that you need to know about from fashion month so far…
Maya Jama taking a break from the Love Island villa
In between heading to the South African villa to host (possibly the wildest) Casa Amor recoupling, Maya Jama hit LFW. She stole the show and frow at Richard Quinn In a floor-length embellished black look (it was giving Wednesday Addams at the Met Gala). That’s all while sat next to Vogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, no less.
Lindsay Lohan at Christian Siriano in New York
Yes, that’s Cady Heron! Last seen gracing our Netflix screen in December in rom-com Falling For Christmas (more on that another time), Lindsay sat front row at a Christian Siriano fashion show in NYC. The actress wore a silky butterscotch ensemble and looked uber-polished alongside her mum, Dina Lohan, as they watched her brother model the collection.
The knife dress at Dilara Findikoglu
A dress made of *actual* butter knives sounds impossible, right? Well, Dilara Findikoglu proved us wrong. With utensils curving around the bust and knives placed in a symmetrical design all over, it took centre-stage at the Turkish-British designer’s London show.
Unbelievable prosthetics at Collina Strada in New York
In equal parts fascinating, creepy and genius, Collina Strada’s collection saw models with prosthetic features, from dinosaurs and birds to mice and dolphins.
There must have been a whole heap of double takes from the guests when the first model appeared with animal features!
Maximalist street-style looks
Who said winter looks were boring? The fashion crowd in New York and London have ditched minimalism in favour of bright shades, bold prints, texture and striking accessories. The main takeaways? A pastel faux leather blazer is a must-have and everyone is wearing 90s-esque shoulder bags. That’s our spring look sorted.

Alicia Keys performing at Moncler
Imagine heading to a fashion show and being greeted with an actual concert by an icon? Showgoers at Moncler Genius hit the jackpot with a concept that combined music, sport and fashion, and saw Miss Keys take the stage for a mash-up of her best hits. Incred.
Burberry’s giant winter hats
Ex-Bottega Veneta designer Daniel Lee was appointed the new creative officer at Burberry late last year, and this LFW saw him showcase his first collection for the heritage brand. The results include a new checked print to know (the brand is famous for its brown check, but bolder shades took pride of place this season) and a giant furry hat. Exactly what we needed for these chilly temps this week.
Hailey Bieber makes a Moncler jacket glam
Celebs attending fashion shows and presentations often sport the brand for the event, so in the case of the Moncler Genius show above, that meant padded puffer coats all round. Trust Hailey Bieber to find the cutest option available. She paired a cropped ivory puffer with a black mini dress and strappy heels, and obviously looked amazing.
Party dresses we really want to wear
Rixo’s ‘Goddess of the Nile’ collection gave us all the inspo we need for parties and events this season. Models wore floor-length sequin gowns with cut-outs, metallic ruched maxis and sparkly embellished minis, It was giving *extra* – just how we like it.
Colourful tongues at Chet Lo
Just when you thought the dinosaur face and knife frock were about as wacky as a fashion show could get, enter the colourful stained tongue. Models for Chet Lo’s autumn/winter 2023 collection at LFW had their tongues and teeth-stained bright blue, green and red.
