I’m not going to lie to you, if you can afford to buy Skims loungewear, it’s worth the money. I know, I know, that’s not what you want to hear. But if you’re someone who loves layering up in comfy pieces while WFH or wants to be decked out in super soft, luxurious-looking loungewear while watching your favourite series in the evening and you can afford to invest, then you won’t regret it. Plus, the Skims bi-annual sale is on right now until the end of May, so you might catch a bargain.
But, if you’re on a budget (£120 for a dressing gown is super steep), and want the minimalist Kim K loungewear look without the price tag, I’ve got you. The amount of time I spend in my cosies on the sofa qualifies me as an expert in knowing what actually feels great to relax in compared to what looks like it feels great to relax in.
So, stick with me – these are the best loungewear dupes for the most popular Skims pieces out now:
The cotton rib tank
The Skims cotton rib tank is one of the most flattering plain white tanks on the market, there’s no denying it. Whether you wear it with sweatpants or a slip skirt, this tank is an elevated version of that baggy white tee you’ve had in your wardrobe for the last decade. But, there’s no denying that it is pricey — no matter how many wears you get out of it. So if you’re not ready to splurge, Monki has a great dupe for just £10 (and it comes in black, green and stripes too).
The terry lounge loose short
If you’ve got your eyes on the Skims terry lounge shorts but you’re not prepared to spend £58, these ASOS ones are a close match for the popular watermelon version. Or, if you want a dupe for the black ones, you’ll like these Adidas shorts. I’d wear mine on the sofa with my fluffy slippers and a bralette, or I’d dress the look up with a fitted crop, trainers, some gold jewellery, and a chic crossbody bag for running errands.
The cotton rib leggings
The Skims cotton rib leggings are exactly what I want to be wearing on stressful life admin days, when a to-do list is taking up all my brain space. Unlike a baggy pair of sweats, these are fitted and the ribbing had a body sculpting effect (like the famous Skims dress) so they’ll make you feel a little more pulled together when WFH. And, because they’re made from cotton, they’re as cool and breathable as they are comfy. But, if £54 is a little too much to spend on a pair of leggings, you might want to buy one of these more affordable options from Na-kd and United Colors of Benetton.
The soft lounge robe
If, like me, you pretty much live in your dressing gown, you’ll be obsessed with the Skims soft lounge robe. Made of super-soft modal fabric, it’s one of those lightweight, silky soft robes that drape and cling exactly where you want them to. It’s the perfect robe to slip into after a hot bath in the winter, but it’s also great for keeping cool in warmer weather. But, since it’s £84, you might want to go for a cheaper lookalike like these ones from M&S and Chelsea Peers.
The cotton jersey super cropped T-Shirt
The super cropped version of the Skims fitted T-Shirt is a handy addition to any summer wardrobe. It’ll look super cute at home with leggings or tracksuit bottoms, and I’d definitely wear mine out with low-waisted cargos or a denim skirt. But, it costs £42. To get the look for less, try these similar tops from Monki and ASOS Design.

The super smooth T-shirt
As much as Miss Kardashian has dubbed these smoothing T-shirts an at-home lounge staple, you won’t find a better layering base for your everyday looks, so it’s a versatile buy.
The figure-hugging fit, simple crew neckline, short slim sleeve and minimal design makes it worthy of an investment, so it’s handy for us then that Weekday’s ‘fine T-shirt’ has every single one of those properties too!
The soft boxer shorts
Whether you want extra coverage under your lounge joggers, or just want to throw on a pair with big T-shirt for bed, a pair of soft boxer-style shorts is a comfy alternative to knickers if you’re hanging around at home. The Skims boyfriend style is unbelievably soft – read my review of the best Skims underwear buys here – and in a lovely grey that’ll work with the rest of your loungewear wardrobe. Trusty Sloggi and Stripe & Stare however are on hand if you’re after a similar style for almost half the price.
The velour dressing gown
Forget your pink teddy dressing gown covered in make-up stains and with a lining that’s seen better days, the future is all about a cosy and chic cover-up, and this velour dressing gown ticks every box. In a neutral shade, it feels like a stylish option, and this Peacocks number could easily pass for its Skims counterpart. The only difference is the length, with this one grazing the knees (which is ideal as the weather gets warmer, actually) and the Skims version reaching the ankles.
The cosy pants
There’s nothing I want to be wearing more than these trousers, and in a different colour every single day. If you were wedded to your tracksuit bottoms during the pandemic, and already au fait with leggings, see these as the perfect in-between. This pair from H&M are almost indistinguishable, minus the ribbed cuffs and waistline.
The cosy robe
A super soft fluffy dressing gown is the stuff of TV binge-watching dreams – it’s the perfect cosy layer for lounging. John Lewis has produced a winner with this teddy bear gown in a chic grey. Roomy pockets for snacks? Tick. Thick tie belt? Tick. It’s a great Skims-esque bargain, but it’s a little softer and fluffier than boucle yarn. YOURS’ dressing gown is a closer dupe texture-wise, and it’s available in sizes 14-40.
The long-sleeve staple top
A ribbed long sleeve top in a goes-with-anything shade will work under everything from blazers to hoodies, but it really comes into its own at home. A slim-fit style will keep you warm without weighing you down, and it’s easy to layer if you feel chilly. I can’t tell the difference between this crew neck Bershka version and the It Skims style, so it’s a dupe worth running to the checkout for.
The checked pyjama set
Checked pyjamas are a classic and Skims’ fleece version are the cosiest option to see you through the cold snap. But splashing £100 on a pair is quite a bit for nightwear. If you want the look without maxing your credit card, head straight to UGG for this doppelganger pair in the sale. Plus, these ones are made from 100% cotton so they’re a little more breezy and suitable to wear all year round.
